It has been used to treat other types of pain in cats and dogs. It is used "off label" or "extra label" in animals. Pregabalin comes in capsule or liquid suspension form.

Pro-Pectalin™ is a digestive health and probiotic supplement used in cats and dogs. It contains kaolin, pectin, and probiotic bacteria to help maintain a balanced microbial flora, promote intestinal health, and support normal digestive function.

Probiotics are given by mouth and are used over the counter to treat gastrointestinal upset. Give as directed by your veterinarian. Side effects are rare but may include gas or mild discomfort. Do not use in pets that are very sick and immunocompromised, or in pets that are allergic to it. If a negative reaction occurs, please call your veterinary office.

Propantheline bromide is given by mouth or injection and is used off label to treat diarrhea, slow heart rate, and incontinence. Give as directed by your veterinarian. Common side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes, fast heart rate, difficulty urinating, and constipation. Do not use in pets that are allergic to it or similar drugs, or pets that have certain heart, bladder, or intestinal problems, glaucoma, or myasthenia gravis. Proparacaine ophthalmic is a topical anesthetic (numbing agent) used in the eyes before diagnostic procedures and as an adjunctive anesthetic for eye surgeries in cats, dogs, and other animals. This medication is used off label in veterinary medicine and comes in a liquid drop form.

Propranolol (brand names Inderal®, Detensol®, Hemangeol®, Innopran®) is a beta-blocker used off label (extra label) to treat abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) in cats, dogs, ferrets, and horses. It has also been used short-term to treat hypertension caused by thyrotoxicosis or pheochromocytoma. It is given by mouth or injection.

Psyllium combination supplements (e.g., DiaGel®) are used in cats and dogs to help control diarrhea and constipation. They contain psyllium seed husks and other natural products that help restore normal bowel movements. Psyllium combination supplements come in powder and liquid gel form (pre-measured syringes).

Psyllium fiber capsules (brand name Vetasyl®) are fiber supplements used in cats and dogs to help promote bowel health. Vetasyl contains psyllium seed husks and barley malt extract powder contained in gelatin capsules.
